Because, however, of the variations of each individual, it is suggested that the diabetic consult with a doctor first before engaging themselves in wine medication.

A hormone called insulin controls the blood sugar level, and the body’s lessened sensitivity to that hormone is called insulin resistance. Resveratrol, a compound found in grapes and wines, actually help in making the body more sensitive to insulin, thus effectively giving it a better opportunity to balance out blood sugar levels. While wine certainly does have give drinkers the benefit of its compound, it does so in extremely small quantities, and being a drunkard will most definitely not cure anything.
